Finally after years of controversial chatter over whether or not Lance Armstrong used performance drugs to enhance his cycling ability has come out in his candid talk with the queen of TV talk shows in an interview where Armstrong tells Winfrey he doped.
I would like to say I was stunned, but I was not. I supported Lance when he denied using drugs in past Tour de France races as rumors buzzed. I guess I just wanted to believe someone with his extraordinary ability was reaching these kinds of achievements through hard training and healthy living. I was delusional.
The sad truth of it all is unethical practices such as this always has a way of coming back to bite you. It looks like it caught up with Lance long last. Moral of the story: Do it the right way or no way. There are no short cuts in life.
Did you catch the warning in today's headlines: Michael Savage: Don't trust the Feds on flu shot? I'm not saying you should or should not get immunized against the flu. We all know the influenza vaccination is based on a highly educated guess by the CDC as to which strains of bacteria to incorporate into the recipe. What I never thought of was the possible future consequences the flu shot may have on one's health. I dare say I believe Savage is onto something.
Bloomberg urges Obama to defy Congress, implement gun control by executive action. It sounds to me the liberals are begging for a revolution of the American people. This is so stupid! We know criminals will NEVER be affected by ANY laws regarding guns which will affect only the upstanding, hard-working, law-abiding, tax paying, citizens of this country 100%.
What law makers and courts need to do is stop slapping the hoodlums on the wrist for their offenses and put them inside a small confined cell with NO cable TV! NO internet! NO free college education! NO recreational activity! They are animals and as such they should be treated.
Why should criminals change when punishment is like a vacation? I'm not saying it's all fun inside the "Big House", but think about how prison life were 50 + years ago. Jailbirds were housed in small quarters and sentenced to intense labor for their wrong doings. Murderers were executed openly in public squares for hundreds of years in America.
In the early years of our country, the guilty of lesser offenses were shamed for their deeds by being placed in a stockade similar to this....

We have gotten away from the public humiliation of wrong doers, which would help to deter lawless individuals in their misconduct of others. Perhaps, the problem for the last century is we have been listening to the wrong law maker, instead of the supreme Law Maker and His word for disciplining the unruly.
Belgian twin brothers euthanized by choice. Where does anyone get off thinking death by one's own hand or by a licensed doctor is a good thing? If this isn't alarming enough, the article also points out the euthanizing of children and Alzheimer's sufferers. Will this be a new holcaust of sorts with the elimination of the weak because society sees them as a financial and emotional drain? Don't bat your eyes in thinking this will NEVER happen in America. It's coming to that and I'm not fanning the flames of fear here, folks. This is just the way things are progressively flowing, if we allow it.
Before I dash to begin my Tuesday, let me leave you with this interesting and fun news....
Grab a cup of coffee and join me, as I head over to see visit these lovelies today...

The world is crazy!
The world is definitely changing - for the good or not?
Hubby cannot wait to see that Lance Armstrong interview. He was such a big fan of his and it's been such a disappointment to see one of his heroes fall. And he's fallen so far.
Suicide for blindness. really? seems a bit extreme - what DR could possibly justify granting those wishes?
But I dig the snowball fight that was so cool!
Also, I thought you should know, I've been reading this pantless ;)
LOL! You crank me up...pantless in Canada? Not me, I have my snugly sweatpants on. =D
*crack me up!
Loved your post!
I'm getting kind of tired of all the stories in the news. Hopefully, spring will be here soon :)
Have a great RT!
As sad as I was to hear about Lance's fall from grace I've often wondered if it wasn't that "succeed at any cost, nothing will stop me" attitude that helped him overcome his cancer. Good and bad in all of us.
I so need some glasses because when I first saw the headline I thought it was Lance Armstrong pantless. I completely agree with you on the prisoner situation. I worked at the only maximum security prison in my state and it was a joke. Seriously the inmates would tell you that their punishment was being away from society not their actual housing at the prison. They get porn mags, playstation and xbox games, $5 doctor visits. You couldn't believe the amount of money that idiots send to the inmates.
I'm disappointed in Lance. Not so much because he used the drugs, it seems to be happening all of time not that that makes it ok, but because he denied doing it to adamantly. Liars get on my nerves!
Guns..... such a hot topic. I for one will protect my family and my 2nd amendment right to do so!
Thanks for linking up with us.
I am truly saddened by the government's gun control stance everyone is buzzing about this morning. On the one hand, I don't believe ANY average citizen needs assault weapons. On the other hand, why shouldn't they have them if they've proven themselves competent and responsible. I worry that excessive gun control will only make LAW ABIDING citizens more vulnerable. I'm liberal when it comes to many things, but gun control is a touchy issue. As long as there are people with complete disregard for human life, there will always be horrible, senseless tragedies.

Amen,Sister! The only way we can protect ourselves is by protecting our 2nd Amendment Rights.

Me: You know, there is usually nothing too pleasent in the headlines, unless you only read the funnies. However, I would rather know what's going on in the world than to shut my eyes to it.
