Let's face it, we're all getting older. I don't like it. You don't like it. Turning another year older is better than the alternative, right? Yep!
Birthdays shouldn't be a gloomy thing. Birthdays should be a happy thing. A time for celebrating YOUR special day!
Like a brilliant light (maybe it came from so many candles aglow on my birthday this past year), the notion popped in my mind, "Why not honor my lovelies in Blogosphere on her/his birthday?"
Everyone likes being remembered on their birthday, even if it's a short warm, fuzzy message. Speaking from personal experience the sentiment behind this tiny gesture really brightens my day and if I were a betting gal, then I'd have to say it does the same for you, too.
Last Thursday, I posed my 2TQ at the bottom of a very loooong post to see if anyone is interested in joining in on some birthday fun. I got a few nibbles, but not nearly enough to make me hop for joy. I want soooo much to spotlight you -- MY FRIENDS on the one day a year which highlights you because....

With that in mind, I'm casting my hook with a slightly revamped version of my T2Q with the hope more interest is generated. No harm ever comes from asking again, right? :D
My
post is participating in two blog hops. In Miss Jenny's weekly Alphabe-Thursday classroom, today's homework assignments is the letter "H" and my questions are linking up with Miss Amanda in her latest edition of Thursday Two Questions. Why not come join us?

Yes, it sounds like fun.
October is my month. Thank you! Looking forward to your HB posts.
Have a great weekend!
I've always believed (for the most part) that age is just a number, so getting a year older? Not gonna lie, I get worse at it with the passage of years, BUT I also don't pay too much attention to mine. You are right, though, they should not be gloomy!
My birthday is coming up soon--March 13! Great idea, Cathy!
Fun idea, Cathy. My birthday is May 31st!
=)
I agree that birthdays should be happy. maybe I should begin celebrating me in a special way. I never do. It doesn't hold much for me, maybe because I grew up without being celebrated.
I do try for the kids though. I want them to feel special, loved and celebrated.
I say nothing try, nothing done. If you feel strongly about it, why not go ahead and run with it. We all have to begin :)
Aloha!
Birthdays really are not given their special due as we get older. I think it would be great fun to give your idea a really good try. Mine is 10/15, and, as you say, birthdays may not be the fave of everyone, but they sure beat the alternative.
my birthday is coming up, January 18th. I'll be... 57, I think. But it's usually only one day when I tell people how old I am, so I usually don't worry. On other days, I just say I was born in 1956.

A happy birthday is only significant with my spouse, children, grand children, and closest friends, because they know what I would like to do on a day like that.
Some years back I started having no expectations on my birthday.
I didn't hope for anything.
And that change in my thinking had an odd way of making my birthdays much more fun!
Mine isn't until April!
Thanks for sharing your fun idea.
A+
